Restrained spring by *johntisbury is one of many breathtaking images from this artist. This classic and classy nude fetish portrait is simple, but through dramatic lighting and dynamic posing creates a contrast of soft and hard, fantasy and reality. The suggester said, "Because it is beautiful -- and that's all that needs to be said." ( Suggested by Not-The-Actress and Featured by opioid )

What a beautiful image. Excellent lighting and shadows. As others have already commented, I agree this looks like a difficult pose, and she's doing it while wearing a posture collar, too... feet essentially en pointe as they would be in ballet heels to form a nice line with the lower leg, then the line of the upper leg, and finally the line through the torso which is made even stronger by the posture collar helping to continue that line by keeping her neck straight and head erect (relative to that line). She must have pretty strong core muscles. Nice work!

Looks as if she's about to prepare for a hand stand or a contortion pose of some kind, perhaps the scorpion?

That is such a lovely and graceful photo. And here I thought it was painful--if not impossible--to support weight on the tops of your toes and insteps like that; I broke my foot that way once. Somehow, she pulls it off well. :)

The title is apt; I can see the tension in the pose. Must've been difficult to pull this off. Did you use a fast shutter speed? Anyway, good job.

Hi

If you look at the picture technical details (right hand side below the shot) it gives my camera settings. The shutter speed was 1/125 of a second, you don't need a fast shutter speed, the studio flash freezes the action.

I did, but only after I posted the comment. My bad. :slow: So the flash freezes the action that effectively, eh? If I ever start using a camera, I'll have to remember it.

Yup, studio flash is very quick, a fraction of a second, fast enough to freeze a water drop from a dripping tap.
